description

Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game designed for groups of four to fifteen players, with matches ideally involving at least five participants. Each round begins with one to three players randomly selected in secret to take on the role of Impostors. Matches unfold across four distinct settings as of 2021: a spacecraft dubbed *The Skeld*, the corporate offices of *MIRA HQ*, the planetary outpost *Polus*, or *The Airship*—a floating vessel inspired by Innersloth’s *Henry Stickmin* franchise. Impostors secure victory by either eliminating enough Crewmates to equal their numbers or triggering critical sabotage events that Crewmates fail to resolve before time expires. Conversely, Crewmates triumph by collectively finishing all assigned tasks or successfully uncovering and voting off every Impostor during emergency meetings. Matches can also conclude abruptly if players exit mid-game, with the outcome determined by remaining participants—for example, a departing Crewmate’s tasks are instantly marked complete, potentially tipping the balance toward a Crew victory. The game’s tension lies in its blend of cooperation and deception, as Impostors mimic task animations to avoid suspicion while plotting sabotage or stealthy kills. Crewmates, meanwhile, must balance completing objectives with observing behavior, analyzing alibis, and debating suspicions to root out hidden threats before it’s too late.
