In the dim glow of flickering torchlight, a sleek-furred mouse skittered across the mossy stones of the forgotten crypt, its claws clicking softly against the damp surface. Whiskers quivered as it paused, nose twitching at the scent of aged cheese tucked beneath a rusted iron grate—a treasure left behind by long-vanished tomb raiders. Eyes like polished onyx darted, alert to the scrape of distant armor or the whisper of owl wings above. Tail coiled tight, it vanished into a crack in the wall, a shadow among shadows, guardian of secrets too small for mortal hands to grasp.

description

EverCat’s claws dig into damp wood as the platform shudders—water surges below, hungry and hissing. Clock ticking. Eyes narrow. One leap to the rusted pipe overhead—grab it, swing forward. Don’t slip. The next ledge crumbles; pivot left, claws scraping stone. A floating crate bobs in the flood—time the jump before it drifts too far. Heart hammers. Whiskers twitch at the scent of home: just beyond the broken bridge. Sprint. Ignore the cold spray. Last gap—no room for error. Muscles coil. Jump.
