The fiery duo known as Boy and Girl Water had lingered in restless stillness for weeks, ears pricking at tavern whispers and traveler’s tales—until one story seized them: a trove of gold, untouched for ages, buried in the heart of a collapsed cavern deep within the wilds. Predictably, they traded boredom for blades, strapped supplies to their backs, and vanished into the horizon by dawn. Fear had long since abandoned them; years of skirmishing with bandits, outwitting traps in crumbling ruins, and surviving nights in temples older than language had forged them into stubborn, grinning survivors. Ancient shrines with their hissing mechanisms and bloodstained altars had nearly ended them more than once. Whatever waited in that cave? Just another scar to collect.
