The survivor limps to the next arena clutching shrapnel wounds. Round two unfolds in a mirrored hall of suspended glass platforms. Sugar Honeycomfts dangles above a void—each player receives a needle to carve their assigned shape (umbrella vs. star) without cracking the brittle candy. They balance on swaying platforms, listening to the other’s frantic scraping. One wrong tap sends hairline fractures spiderwebbing across the surface. The victor watches their opponent’s silhouette plummet through the glass mosaic below. The final showdown occurs in the titular Squid Arena—a chalk-drawn battlefield under searing stadium lights. One attacks, one defends. Fingernails tear at masks as they grapple across the squid’s twisting body outline. Broken teeth litter the sand when the defender finally hurls the attacker beyond the boundary line. The last game ends not with applause, but with the hollow click of a debit card dispensing blood money into the winner’s trembling hand.
